Ahead of the European Election, on May 2nd, the event to present the <strong>State of the Union<\/strong> will be held at the European University&#8217;s Institute in Florence. The panellist will discuss over <strong>education<\/strong> and the role it can play &#8220;in tackling democratic deficit, enhancing the citizens&#8217; understanding of the European Union\u2019s founding values, its history, its institutions and the benefits it brings about&#8221;. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Getting involved<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Institutions dealing with topics that relate to Jean Monnet Activities are invited to implement any kind of <strong>event<\/strong>, conference etc. for the occasion. Students, learners, professors and scholars are encouraged to get involved in debates around <strong>European studies<\/strong>. It will be the chance to discuss over the history, the protagonists and the challenges of the European Union, remarking the importance of encouranging European studies in partnership with<strong> higher education institutions<\/strong> across the EU. They fall under the Erasmus+ Programme and address specifically to scholars, universities and other bodies dealing with research or teaching. Two main aims: improving<strong> European integration<\/strong> and spreading <strong>European values<\/strong>, in and out the EU boundaries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are three kinds of such activities: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Teaching and Research<\/strong>: Jean Monnet Modules, Chairs and Centres of Excellence.<\/li><li><strong>Support to Associations<\/strong>: Jean Monnet support to Associations.<\/li><li><strong>Policy debate with the Academic World<\/strong>: Jean Monnet Networks and Jean Monnet Projects.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Although they are designed mostly for higher education institutions, in order to enhance employability and improving career prospects for young graduates, there&#8217;s also the possibility for <strong>organisations <\/strong>active in the field of youth to take part &#8211; as stated in the official <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"website (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/eacea.ec.europa.eu\/erasmus-plus\/actions\/jean-monnet_en\" target=\"_blank\">website<\/a>, that refers to the <a href=\"https:\/\/youthnetworks.net\/e-programme-guide-2019-corrigenda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Erasmus+ Programme Guide (opens in a new tab)\">Erasmus+ Programme Guide<\/a>. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The official hashtag #JeanMonnet30 has been launched, the celebrations for the anniversay of Jean Monnet activities too.
