It&#8217;s the <strong>Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs Programme<\/strong>, that <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"turns 10 this year (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.erasmus-entrepreneurs.eu\/upload\/10%20Years_EYE_web.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">turns 10 this year<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The programme was created in 2009 and it allows young entrepreneurs to get a <strong>cross-border field training<\/strong>, enabling them to spend a period of time at another European small or medium enterprise. The call currently running covers the period 2016-2021 and, in this period alone, over <strong>250 new companies<\/strong> and more than <strong>2,000 jobs<\/strong> were created thanks to the EYE experience. As it&#8217;s stated in the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"call (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/easme\/sites\/easme-site\/files\/documents\/call_for_proposals_erasmus_young_entrepreneurs_2016.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">call<\/a>, &#8220;Small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) play a crucial role in reaching the objectives of the <strong>Europe 2020 Strategy<\/strong>&#8221; (<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"here  (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eu2020\/pdf\/COMPLET%20EN%20BARROSO%20%20%20007%20-%20Europe%202020%20-%20EN%20version.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">here <\/a>further infrmation about this last initiative). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EYE is a combination of fostering the <strong>entrepreneurial activities<\/strong> in the EU and, at the same time, their <strong>internationalisation<\/strong>, to exploit every aspect of the Single Market &#8211; one of the pillar ot the European Union. SMEs make up for &#8220;99% of businesses in Europe and contribute to 60% of European private sector employment, creating 85% of new jobs&#8221;, as reported on <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Forbes (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/palomacanterogomez\/2019\/03\/25\/five-good-reasons-to-boost-your-business-with-erasmus-for-young-entrepreneurs\/?fbclid=IwAR2nhSGfHQB4tvBOvLML0GLF-EPtd4BCHDBOyRk4VHYuQUmjHmWNYnwCRNA#5548dbe85acf\" target=\"_blank\">Forbes<\/a>. Developing the <strong>skills <\/strong>of the young entrepreneurs is then fundamental to improve European economic performance as well, not last in terms of <strong>employability<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to do so? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It works trhough a <strong>call for proposal<\/strong>. The main characters are the <strong>new and young entrepreneur<\/strong>, the <strong>hosting enterprise<\/strong> and <strong>intermediary organisations <\/strong>(IOs), that are selected to manage the programme local level. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What&#8217;s the <strong>role <\/strong>of such organisations? However, the allocation for each single year depends on the annual budget adopted for that year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As stated in the call, during the first SGAs (specific agreements) arranged from 1 February 2017 to 31 January 2019, &#8220;Financial assistance to new entrepreneurs participating in a mobility action shall take the form of a scale of unit cost of maximum <strong>EUR 6.600 per entrepreneur<\/strong>.
