The call refers to <strong>young people<\/strong> already working as leaders in organisations dealing with <strong>diaspora communities<\/strong> across Europe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The aim of the project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The call aims at promoting <strong>global citizenship<\/strong> and strengthening the <strong>active citizenship\u2019s skills<\/strong> of <strong>youth diaspora<\/strong>. Not only they should be recognized, but they must also have the possibility to contribute to the peace-building process in Europe and to <strong>create <\/strong>a <strong>more inclusive society<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its specific <strong>objectives <\/strong>are: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>to provide knowledge and competences on Global Education;<\/li><li>to map  successful  initiatives  and policiesthat address diaspora youth\u2019 needs and challenges;<\/li><li>to  strengthen  the  capacity  of  the  participants  to  better  understand  structures, mechanisms and  strategies  of advocacy and decision\/policy making at local, national and international level;<\/li><li>to promote the use of the main international tools;  <\/li><li>to identify  potential  follow-up  actions  and  proposals  to  influence  policy  and\/or  raise  awareness on the topic of the training course.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A definition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Nowadays, within the context of <strong>new migration flows <\/strong>and routes, the issue of people fleeing from their home countries is particularly sensitive. Nevertheless, there are four main factors that make a movement of people recognized as a <strong>disaspora<\/strong>: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li> dispersal to two or more location; <\/li><li> relationship to an actual or imagined homeland;<\/li><li> self-awareness of the group\u2019s identity;<\/li><li> multi-generational  dimension.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The context<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The training course will take palce within the framework of the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"7th Mediterranean University on Youth and Global Citizenship (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.coe.int\/en\/web\/north-south-centre\/mediterranean-university-on-youth-and-global-citizenship\" target=\"_blank\">7th Mediterranean University on Youth and Global Citizenship<\/a>  (MedUni), and will be facilitated and coordinated by the <strong>North-South Centre of the Council of Europ<\/strong>e in partnership with l\u2019<strong>Observatoire National de la Jeunesse<\/strong> (ONJ) and other European and Southern Mediterranean stakeholders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For further information on the training course, the application process and the actors involved, please refer to the following <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"link (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/rm.coe.int\/call-tc-diaspora-youth-2019\/1680943432\" target=\"_blank\">link<\/a>.
