{"id":2007,"date":"2020-01-02T11:43:58","date_gmt":"2020-01-02T10:43:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/youthnetworks.net\/?p=2007"},"modified":"2020-01-02T11:44:01","modified_gmt":"2020-01-02T10:44:01","slug":"breaking-gender-stereotypes-in-youth-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/youthnetworks.net\/breaking-gender-stereotypes-in-youth-work\/","title":{"rendered":"Breaking Gender Stereotypes in Youth Work"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong> Mirror Mirror on the Wall: Breaking Gender Stereotypes in Youth Work <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/youthnetworks.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Mirror-Mirror-Manual.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">manual <\/a><\/strong>was created during the project \u201cMirror Mirror on the Wall: Breaking Gender Stereotypes in Youth Work\u201d &#8211; a seminar in <strong>November 2019 in Ligonchio, Italy<\/strong>.<br> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">It aims to:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Sensitize to gender education and its objectives<\/li><li>Share tools, strategies and best practices on how to tackle and overcome situations of gendered discrimination \/ violence in working with young people<\/li><li>Make youth centers, workshops and projects for young people more inclusive and safer.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The manual was drafted by the participants of the seminar and edited by <a href=\"https:\/\/peco.genova.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Associazione P.E.<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/peco.genova.it\/\">CO<\/a>.<br> It first explains why it&#8217;s important to be aware of gender and stereotypes when working with youngsters.<br>Then, it describes how to create a youth center more inclusive and safer for everyone.<br>It finally suggests some aspects to consider when doing a youth exchange, so that each participant feels comfortable with the group and the activities <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/youthnetworks.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Mirror-Mirror-Manual.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">DOWNLOAD THE MANUAL HERE<\/a><\/strong> <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mirror Mirror on the Wall: Breaking Gender Stereotypes in Youth Work This manual was created during the project \u201cMirror Mirror on the Wall: Breaking Gender Stereotypes in Youth Work\u201d &#8211; a seminar in November 2019 in Ligonchio, Italy.
