The Flag Relocation is the last artistic work based on the theme of relocation by Francesco Di Giovanni<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He used the metaphor of relocation, for different areas and contexts to tackle the topic of migration. He did so through performance, photography, video and installations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Article 13 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states. “Everyone has the right to freedom of movement and residence within the borders of each State. Everyone has the right to leave any country, including his own, and to return to his own country”. Therefore, everyone has the right to ‘relocate’ and also has the right to recognition of his legal personality in every place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this work the artist represents the vision of Europe of Sami, a young migrant. He subverts the perspective in which the migrant appears as a foreigner, as “not at home”, representing her relation and identity towards Europe. His language is inclusive and breaks down the barriers of otherness in favour of a concept of human plurality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
