{"id":2697,"date":"2020-11-25T15:04:14","date_gmt":"2020-11-25T14:04:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/youthnetworks.net\/?p=2697"},"modified":"2020-11-25T15:05:48","modified_gmt":"2020-11-25T14:05:48","slug":"united-nations-junior-professional-officer-programme-2020-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/youthnetworks.net\/united-nations-junior-professional-officer-programme-2020-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"United Nations &#8211; Junior Professional Officer Programme 2020\/2021"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <strong>Italian Junior Professional Officer Programme (JPO)<\/strong> is a multilateral technical cooperation initiative by the Government of Italy and implemented by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN\/DESA). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It enables Italian citizens and citizens of eligible developing countries holding an advanced university degree to <strong>gain work experience with international organizations for a period of two years.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The purpose of the Programme is two-fold: on the one hand, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">it assists international organizations in carrying out their activities by providing them with skilled personnel<\/span> for a period of two years. On the other, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">it allows young qualified professionals seeking an international career the opportunity of two years\u2019 work experience<\/span> that will broaden their chances of finding a suitable job in international organizations or in the international field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Candidates must meet all the following requirements for the 2020\/2021 edition:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>born on or after 1 January 1990 (1 January 1989 for graduates in Medicine; 1 January 1987 for graduates in Medicine who have already a post-graduate medical specialization degree)<\/li><li>Italian nationality<\/li><li>fluency in English and Italian<\/li><li>advanced university degree awarded before the application deadline, such as:<ul><li>Laurea Magistrale\/Specialistica<\/li><li>Laurea Magistrale a ciclo unico<\/li><li>Laurea\/Laurea Triennale plus university Master\u2019s degree<\/li><li>Bachelor\u2019s degree plus university Master\u2019s degree.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For the 2020\/2021 edition, a limited number of positions will be assigned to candidates from developing countries. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.undesa.it\/index.php\/jpo-programme\/requirements\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">list<\/a> of the eligible countries is available in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.undesa.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">official website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Given the highly competitive nature of the Italian JPO Programme, the following are important assets:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Knowledge of other UN official languages\/languages spoken in developing countries<\/li><li>Additional academic qualifications and\/or training courses<\/li><li>Solid professional work experience (minimum one year)<\/li><li>Key competencies such as client orientation, teamwork, communication, accountability, planning and organization.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Candidates should be motivated, flexible and willing to adapt to different environments.
