{"id":3537,"date":"2022-06-10T17:13:59","date_gmt":"2022-06-10T15:13:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/youthnetworks.net\/?p=3537"},"modified":"2022-06-10T17:13:59","modified_gmt":"2022-06-10T15:13:59","slug":"youth-engagement-eurobarometer-survey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/youthnetworks.net\/youth-engagement-eurobarometer-survey\/","title":{"rendered":"Youth Engagement | Eurobarometer Survey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The new Eurobarometer survey shows growing youth engagement, with a majority (58%) of young people active in the societies they live in, and having participated in one or more youth organisation&#8217;s activities over the last 12 months.<\/p>\n<h3>The Eurobarometer on Youth and Democracy<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/europa.eu\/eurobarometer\/surveys\/detail\/2282\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Flash Eurobarometer on Youth and Democracy<\/a>, run in February and March 2022, shows an increase of 17% in youth engagement since the last survey conducted in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, young people&#8217;s most common expectation for the 2022 European Year of Youth is for decision-makers to listen more to their demands and act on them, and to support their personal, social and professional development (72%).<\/p>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s war of aggression against Ukraine has reinforced young people&#8217;s conviction that preserving peace, reinforcing international security and promoting international cooperation is the very first objective of the EU (37%).<\/p>\n<p>The next highest expectations are for the EU to<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>increase job opportunities for young people (33%)<\/li>\n<li>fight poverty and economic and social inequalities (32%)<\/li>\n<li>promote environmentally friendly policies and fight climate change (31%)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Voice Your Vision<\/h3>\n<p>The European Commission has also launched a new online tool, the <a class=\" eac-external-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youthvoices.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cVoice your Vision\u201d<\/a>\u00a0platform, to make it easier for young Europeans to make their voice heard.
