The second edition of the \u00a0<\/span><b>Altiero Spinelli Prize for Outreach 2018<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has been opened and the prize is waiting for individuals or associations active in the field of youth and education.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As written on the Commission\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/education\/news\/call-for-proposals-altiero-spinelli-prize-for-outreach-2018_en_en\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the projects eligible to compete will have to deal with:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Innovative and practice-oriented educational programmes or campaigns and\/or Massive Online Open Courses;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Games (offline and\/or online) with pedagogic purposes allowing young participants to experience Europe and its functioning in practice;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Collaborative projects and action-based activities promoting the concrete participation of young people in the democratic processes that shape the future of the EU, and their active engagement with European common values;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">or combinations of such works.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-949 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/youthnetworks.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/graduation-3649717_1280-300x201.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"201\" srcset=\"https:\/\/youthnetworks.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/graduation-3649717_1280-300x201.jpg 300w, https:\/\/youthnetworks.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/graduation-3649717_1280-1024x685.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/youthnetworks.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/graduation-3649717_1280-768x514.jpg 768w, https:\/\/youthnetworks.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/graduation-3649717_1280-696x465.jpg 696w, https:\/\/youthnetworks.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/graduation-3649717_1280-1068x714.jpg 1068w, https:\/\/youthnetworks.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/graduation-3649717_1280-628x420.jpg 628w, https:\/\/youthnetworks.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/graduation-3649717_1280.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the 2018 edition the prizes available are five, each <\/span><b>25 000 EUR worthy<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The deadline for applications is <\/span><b>Monday 07 January 2019<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at 17:00 CET. Further informations about the deadline, the eligibility and the award criteria are available on the official <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/education\/sites\/education\/files\/document-library-docs\/rules_of_contest.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rules of Contest document<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This year, the prize shares very close links with the <\/span><b>European Youth Week 2019<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; that will take place ahead of the European election. In fact, according to the last surveys, it appears that the youngsters living in EU barely know how the whole European construction works. Hence, the Altiero Spinelli Contest\u2019s purpose is to award either the works, activities or products that best represent the <\/span><b>impact that the young people can actually put in place<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">; the bottom-up contributions in the democratic process and, from the other side, the top-down spillovers from the EU; and, eventually, the core European values, threatened especially in the last period by the populistic wave.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s the second year that the contest takes place. The winners of the<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/education\/news\/award-ceremony-of-the-altiero-spinelli-prize_en\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 2017 edition<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> participated with projects and works regarding schools, courses and programmes for a <\/span><b>deeper understanding of the European construction<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">; practical games (online and offline) together with activities regarding the EU; books, photo projects and other visual art performances.
